JOURNAL ENTRY The
lady behind the counter at
this Antique Store in Rifle shared
her experiences after buying
the shop several years ago.
Gifts, antiques
and such things
are what people buy when they
have extra money. Today they
just don't seem to have extra
money, so things are a bit slow.
We agreed things
are sure to
look up soon, still, I encouraged
her to look at the article on this
site about our eco-economic
system.
Krow greeted me at The
Moose lodge and helped us
with enough gas to send our
vehicle on to Eagle, which
is where we plan to begin
walking toward as soon as
the sun rises.
The Walk for THE WALK Tour is a walk
across America from Malibu, California
to Washington, D.C. taking the design for
a liner museum of American History
called: THE WALK to the public.
Steven wears a uniform shirt and tie to
prevent some from believing this is some
kind of a protest. The tour is more about
introducing The Walk than fund-raising.
This 3800 mile walk should also allow
people to understand that it is not
believed to be an easy project, but
that it is possible to do difficult things
when the desire is there, and like the
history of this continent and this nation,
The Walk has been filled with bright
moments, exhillerating adventures
and some set backs. Each of these
has added to what we are as a nation
and who we are as a people.
This co-op gallery is downtown Rifle, Colorado.
Warm smiles and friendly art objects. Misty, a potter, is on the left
and her
husband Garrick stands with her.
We stopped by the Rifle Moose Lodge 1345 and was happy to meet Krow.
Krow is the one with the beard.
A small country store is located near IH70 in Rifle. Gourmet Jelly Beans
decorate the shelves while enticing customers to try those on the counter.
Anyone want to buy a new oil rig? This one seems to be for sale near
Rifle, Colorado.
IH70 was on the other side of this sign but...
Even on short days, sometimes the road looks long. Today was a quick
20 miles, much shorter than what we have been walking.
Members and Posts of
these organizations have
given us support along
our journey. I hope
this projects serves them
as well as they have served
this nation --
and us while we walk.

you to personal myspace

we are doing, and add
