The Walk for THE WALK Tour is a walk
across America from Malibu, California
to Washington, D.C. taking the design for
a liner museum of American History
called: THE WALK to the public.
This project is to introduce this new
design for an American History Museum
to the American public. The 3800+ mile
walk should also allow people to
understand that we do not
believe it will be an easy project, but
that it is possible to do difficult things
when the desire is there, and like the
history of this continent and this nation,
The Walk has been filled with bright
moments, exhillerating adventures
and some set backs. Each of these
has added to what we are as a nation
and who we are as a people.
JOURNAL
ENTRY
Sometimes the days go by so quickly,
it is difficult to imagine where they
have gone. Most of the time we can
spend only moments with people who
deserve so much more.
Each of them have
added so much to
this journey, and made this project
easier to present to a media that
is likely to find the design not
easy to slide into a 60 second
sound bite.
This is the nation
that we have
become, but not the nation most
of us wanted to evolve. There
are things we can do, and most
of them are simple.
It takes just a
moment to realize
this is my country. It is your
country. The OUR COUNTRY,
slogal makes it easier to ignore
the things we should be doing
to guide, preserve and restore
the things that made this nation
great!
Somebody suggested
today that
my belief in Americans is unjustified,
even as he said he was going to keep
track of what we are doing and
do what he can to spred the word.
It is people like him that give me
greata faith in what we can do.
One one hand, we have great
reservations about what can be
done, and on the other hand
we put on the gloves and start
swinging away.

WALK ACROSS AMERICA: PHOTO
ALBUM PAGES

Just inside the Best Western, I saw this tribute to their employees
who served in
the military. We salute the management for THEIR Patriotism!

I learned quickly to stay on the windward side of the road. All of the
drivers
waved as they moved by.

I thought a nice close-up of a barn might be nice, right about now.

Look Close! There is a dragon fly on this stick.

I followed these railroad tracks for about ten miles. The dirt road
was much
easier on the feet.

It only made sense that we add this great poster. It covered the wall
at the
Oasis Truck Stop

It seems I am destined to wander the yellow brick road.

I went through the Prairie Dog Town on my way out of Oakley. This little
fellow
sat and scratched as I took all too many pics of him, her, it.

These people were excited to see the five and six legged cows at the
Prairie Dog
Town.
