The Walk for THE WALK Tour is a walk
across America from Malibu, California
to Washington, D.C. taking the design for
a liner museum of American History
called: THE WALK to the public.
This project is to introduce this new
design for an American History Museum
to the American public. The 3800+ mile
walk should also allow people to
understand that we do not
believe it will be an easy project, but
that it is possible to do difficult things
when the desire is there, and like the
history of this continent and this nation,
The Walk has been filled with bright
moments, exhillerating adventures
and some set backs. Each of these
has added to what we are as a nation
and who we are as a people.

Across America for
The American History Museum
Did you notice
the oriole between the words in
today's banner?
Coal
seems to be everywhere! Stacks of coal are scattered along the river,
often being loaded onto barges or railroad cars.
The Hills of West Virginia are stunning! The rails and the roads follow
more closely
than I have seen. They seem to move as friends, following a smooth path
between the green hills. The three Rs. The Rivers, the rails and the
roads.
These deep purple morning glories covered the sides of the road for
most of
my morning.
The light lime green vines seem to cascade down the hill like a waterfall.
I kept
thinking there should be a roar. The tree covered vines seemed to create
images, much like those I see in clouds.
This old power plant seemed to be doing well, rust and all. A flock
of Canadian
Geese walked on the lawn and an eagle soared overhead in the warm upsweeping
draft.
We walked across a bridge and discovered this wonderful view of the
river we
had been following for hours.
Glacing down, we watched a successful afternoon fisher.
The waterfall of vines brought us to a waterfall of H2O.
Natt returns to his hobby of rock climbing from time to time.
Sometimes we climb rocks. Sometimes waterfalls. We took turns at this
one.
Each remaining at the bottom, in turn, to take some quick photographs.
This certainly was a great surprise along this journey from Malibu to
Washington.
It happends from time to time. In the town of Fayettevile, West Virginia...
a pizza that should be called something else. This Thai Pie is one off
the menu
of tastes created presented by Pies and Pints, a place worth traveling
a couple
of hundred miles to visit... then stop by Diogi's. Food that may be
too good
to duplicate.
Members and Posts of
these organizations have
given us support along
our journey. I hope
this projects serves them
as well as they have served
this nation --
and us while we walk.
The links below can take
you to personal myspace
pages. I hope you will
keep up with what
we are doing, and add
to the project: drop us
a note, suggestions or
comments.
This site follows us as we make our way along America's
roads and highways, but this project is about raising awareness for
a linear museum of American History called: The
Walk.
The project is about one individual and then another:
not one more important than the next, but each a link in the chain we
call "America."
Millions of stories that should never be forgotten, perhaps preventing
some future American from making their mistakes, or leading the next
generation to a brighter future.
Our future is not written in stone. It never was. This
nation was not left to us as a gift. It was left to us as a challenge.
We can do no more. We should do no less.
I hope you enjoy looking
at these pages. Maybe
return to our beginning
and walk with us,
enjoy the things we saw
and maybe laugh at some
of the things we did.
Some suggest we have
lost our minds. Maybe.
May just ask if they
can help us. When I hear
that question, I am forced
to admit, "Many people hope you can."
