The Walk for THE WALK Tour is a walk
across America from Malibu, California
to Washington, D.C. taking the design for
a liner museum of American History
called: THE WALK to the public.
This project is to introduce this new
design for an American History Museum
to the American public. The 3800+ mile
walk should also allow people to
understand that we do not
believe it will be an easy project, but
that it is possible to do difficult things
when the desire is there, and like the
history of this continent and this nation,
The Walk has been filled with bright
moments, exhillerating adventures
and some set backs. Each of these
has added to what we are as a nation
and who we are as a people.
I checked. Nobody here making
cookies!
I spoke too soon. Brenda was making
energy cookies as we walked into
The Dirtbean Cafe in Marlinton,
West Virginia.
TRAVEL - Walking
Across America for
The American History Museum
This
miner shared his experiences, as a miner and hiker. I made my way into
a coal mine, that was even darker expected.
Tim Nicholas was killed on Feb. 19. His Dad honors him with this shield
on his
car.
We walked over the bridge spanning this river on our way to the Monongahela
National Forest.
We made our long by road at times... by trail at times... and; at times,
by river.
The deep green forest was; at times, interupted by bursts and fields
of bright
yellow flowers reflecting the sunny skies that broke through the wood.
This Tiger Swallow Tail rested on some purple flowers, after following
us for
over a hundred yards.
The trails that we followed were often like this, but could disappear
completely.
Without warning, breaks in the wood brought us views of wildflowers
against
the forest through which we walked.
Mushrooms were scattered about the forest floor everywhere and made
the
perfect insects, spiders, small creatures and fearies.
.
These guys are going in search of adventure in the forest we just left.
Happy Trails!
Members and Posts of
these organizations have
given us support along
our journey. I hope
this projects serves them
as well as they have served
this nation --
and us while we walk.
The links below can take
you to personal myspace
pages. I hope you will
keep up with what
we are doing, and add
to the project: drop us
a note, suggestions or
comments.
This site follows us as we make our way along America's
roads and highways, but this project is about raising awareness for
a linear museum of American History called: The
Walk.
The project is about one individual and then another:
not one more important than the next, but each a link in the chain we
call "America."
Millions of stories that should never be forgotten, perhaps preventing
some future American from making their mistakes, or leading the next
generation to a brighter future.
Our future is not written in stone. It never was. This
nation was not left to us as a gift. It was left to us as a challenge.
We can do no more. We should do no less.
I hope you enjoy looking
at these pages. Maybe
return to our beginning
and walk with us,
enjoy the things we saw
and maybe laugh at some
of the things we did.
Some suggest we have
lost our minds. Maybe.
May just ask if they
can help us. When I hear
that question, I am forced
to admit, "Many people hope you can."
