We made our way to El Monte, California
POST 261

Making our way through a never-ending
variety of ethnic neighborhoods, it is
easy to see The United States has become
a salad and not a stew. That is fine with
me. I like salads much better than I do stews. While they work well together, the lettuce is not trying to be a tomato, the cucumber is not trying to be a bell pepper. Each special. Each different. Each adding their special flavor to the mix.

Ocean view from our window at the Sheraton. Wonderful way to begin a day!

Neighborhoods in Alhambra, California

The Owner of a Radiator Shop worries about how things are going to work
out for him. In business for more than sixty years, his hopes rest with our
new President.

Sometimes we forget how powerful images are when they are not in front of us.
It was great to see this statue in front of El Monte's City Hall. The Mayor came
out to wish us well as we walk to Washington, D.C.

It was nice to see those who represent the people of El Monte, California. They are
reminded each day of those who serve to keep us all safe as we sleep...
and as we go about our lives each day.
