JOURNAL ENTRY
Sometimes I am asked why were are walking
to
draw attention to the design for an American History Museum. There are
several reasons. The first is to
let people know that while I don't think it will be
an easy task, but it will be built. Another reason
is to remind Americans our first citizens walked
across the continent to create the nation we have
grown to both love and take for granted. Walking, they came to know
the hardships that must and can be faced as well as the grandure of
the country and its dreams. Still another, is to remind us that from
our beginning we looked west to move forward. Perhaps as we walk east,
we can learn to look back to learn more about where we really want to
go.
Is this a protest? NO! It is a celebration
of what
this nation is: who we are and what we can
become.

Link to today's journey.
As Memorial day draws near,
I hope Americans are; indeed,
think about what this day means.
Perhaps one day we can all;
once again, remember
The American Flag, Pins, Banners
and quick slogans are more than just sales tools.
Heroism and Honor are; and should be,
more than rhetoric to those who serve this nation,
whether they wear a uniform
or not.

D. Anson walking along a tree lined and shaded street, hiding what we
knew would be in
front of us.

It was nice to spend some time with Janice Rutherford in Fontana, California.
This
statue of Robert Kennedy is in front of City Hall.

The road from San Bernadino find us dodging Interstate 15.

Some local Rangers and Firemen gave me some water to take with me as
I walked
across what is called a forest. I wondered: Where are the trees?

We spent some time, each of us wondering why were were in the sun.
