The Museum's Goal

When I was a child, my grandmother camped with us.
She'd get up early to gather wood for the morning fire and
I would walk with her. During those moments just before
dawn, it would become so dark, I could barely see my
hand in front of my face but she knew the area and would
walk without stumbling. She'ld hold a flashlight with its
beam directed toward the rocky path behind her and I
followed along, thankful for the beam of light.

Great museums work like my grandmother's flashlight.
The beam of light is directed toward the past but serves
to guide and benefit those who must walk into the future.

The Walk, divided into two sections: The New World
and The Veterans Walk. They, in combination, serve as an
educational exhibit. The programs and design are made to inspire,
encourage, enrich and challenge confident, independent,
thinking, proud and productive unique American citizens
and their welcome guests.
