Cultural Center
Living History Museums
The New World Walk is divided into
parallel sections with the beginning
of the American Revolution.
The 13 Colonies are provided space to
place
either Cultural Centers or Living History
Museums along this first section of
America's Walk (sometimes refered to as
The Veterans Walk).
These paths follow; more or less,
allowing The New World Walk to continue
featuring the events, places and times of
those territories not yet a part of
The United States.
As each territory or land mass is brought
into the Union of States, the history of
that region begins to join that of
America's Walk. A part of the design
calls for a connecting path from the
New World Walk to America's Walk
at these time-line moments.
Should the State decide on a Living
History
Exhibit, whether that is designed as a
small single setting, a U-shaped street,
touching The Walk's Brickwalk in two areas
or a complex that includes several streets,
the exhibit space should be designed by
citizens from that State. Employees should
come from the State and products presented
or sold on site, should come from the State
represented.
The property should be legally bound
as a
part of the State and monies brought in
by the exhibit; on the property of the exhibit,
should belong to that State. The concept
of Embassy-Style ownership allows for
each of the States to have a part of this
national design.
It is possible some states may request
to
have their presentation at a date other
that at the date on the time-line called
for by their entry into the Union. Such
exceptions may be made when it has
been decided appropriate. In such cases,
a marker, monument or statue may be
placed at the time-line date, and the
full exhibit space placed at the time-line
chosen as more appropriate.
The Embassy-Style ownership in such
a piece of property should be exempt from
State Taxes but should not be larger
than what is required to place their
living history facility. A limit of no more
than one hundred acres should be provided,
which should allow for any State to create
a spectacular exhibit: complete with a
variety of residential quarters for citizens
working at that location.
States desiring to lease or sell commercial
property within the boundaries of their
site much conform to all the regulations
governed by the time-line and 51%
ownership policies, as well as other
stipulations which may be deemed
appropriate to maintain the academic
and economic values established by
The Walk.
